Phineas is a short young man with a long nose, large bulging eyes, and a shock of orange hair on top of his pointy head. A shimmering chain shirt is mostly hidden by the plain wool tabard that covers the rest of his clothing. A high-quality composite longbow is unstrung across his back as well as a couple of quivers of arrows and a well-worn leather backpack. He wears a plank of darkwood on his left wrist like an oversized bracelet.

Phineas is from the Green Morose near Olbana. The man he knew as his father had sworn off society and raised the boy mostly in seclusion. They would occasionally come to town (city?) to trade, but that wasn’t exactly useful socialization. He was trained to hunt the woods and, because of his father’s bitterness, the best way to take down other people (read: humans) quickly. He occasionally had to employ these skills against bandits or other raiders trying to intrude upon their seclusion.

His ability to be self sufficient proved useful when his father/mentor up and died of a heart attack. After burying the old man, Phineas found the key to a locked chest kept under the bed in their cabin. Within were the magical equipment, mundane gear, and cash he now possesses.

He grew lonely by himself in the woods, and decided to strike out on his own, heading west along the road to Merrin. He hadn’t made it far before he encountered cultists of Maylor, and because of his naivete, they easily tricked and imprisoned him.

He comes off as a bumpkin, shy in a crowd, and overawed by cities. He relaxes significantly when out in the wilds, and there his demeanor is that of a confident, competent woodsman.
